Connection #3

The last version of the timeline is quite different. All the curves have been removed and the main timeline has been divided into three "sub-timelines". The purpose of this illustration is to reveal the time period in which each notion about the nature of light was present.

For example the last illustration shows clearly that both particle nature and wave nature of light started being present in science the same period of time (Newton and Young) and ended again the same period (Einstein and Planck). Nevertheless, the wave nature of light evolved mainly when physicists thought that ether existed. Contrarily, the particle nature was "present" from Newton's age without being altered and it was developed much later by Bohr and Einstein.

At the same time one can observe that red dots (undefined nature) remain present until now despite the fact that this conception began to exist hundreds of years before.
